Clachanburn Garden as a Place of Learning

Clachanburn has hosted seven overseas students for work experience and project opportunities as part of their curriculum. We are very appreciative of their input. With a reciprocal approach, Jane enjoys working alongside them, sharing her considerable knowledge and letting them experience gardening in our climate and location.

Jeroen and Rens worked in Jane's garden during 2005: We’ve really enjoyed our experience working in Jane’s fantastic garden. Some very interesting features of this garden are natural water, stones, big views and the Maniototo climate, which is very different to our climate at home. We especially liked carrying out our university project of developing the orchard creek to fit in with the rest of the garden. Working with natural stone was another good experience, as in The Netherlands that's a very expensive thing to do.
